Synthetic Shake/shingles?

A lady on the DIY site has a geodesic dome roof with complex angles. Would anyone who has experience with these newly marketed products voice an opinion on the feasability and price range of the products.

Please list brand names and profiles available and any links if you know any.

Re: Synthetic Shake/shingles?

That helps, so thanks for the link, but I was more interested in the possibility of some type of product to be capable of looking unique and to be applied on a geodesic dome structure.'

Practical on hands experience with the quality of the materials and the ease of installation would be helpful too.

Re: Synthetic Shake/shingles?

Well Ed. Haven't done it in shakes. But same principle applies, so far as which sections get done first, etc. Just can't wrap the hips, they get 'Rooster-Tailed' instead. Here's a shingled one; http://www.rooferscoffeeshop.com/sho...8&file=764&s=0

Underlay might be critical on the top sections and have to 'lay-over' lower sections.
