Structuring A Roofing Company
Recently got hit with big hailstorm in Indy and before the storm was doing 2-4 roofs per week and am now doing 20-28 roofs per week, siding jobs, gutter jobs, screen repairs, comb a/c's, all kinda of misc.due to the size of this storm jobs. Was a small company before and became medium size overnight at a very fast rate. I'v am now realizing I have taken way more than I can produce in a reasonable amount of time and homeowners are getting impatient. I am not taking any new work as of now to catch up. What is the best employee structure and chain of command for medium size roofing(general contracting) company(sales, production, office)

Keep doing what you are doing. But spend less time installing. Perhaps hire one person to take your place on your crew.
Hire some subs to help ease the production burden. You spend less of your time actually installing but instead make sure to SUPERVISE your subs. If you have any kind ofa dvertisement I am suprised you haven't been getting calls from the storm chasers trying to work for you. |

Re: Structuring A Roofing Company
I've had more than 30 stormers try to lease, buy, partner up with me promising all kinds of money they will make me. Started 2 days after the april 14th hail.. I said the hell with you guys. Maybe 1 out of all of those stormers may have legitametly helped, the rest probably would have ran my business to lawsuits, judments and/or bankruptcy. The best scam artist in the country are storm chasers.

No No No. I'm talking about sub contractors, not the storm chasers that want to run your company, but the ones who want to work for you as installers. Just typical every day subcontractors that happen to be from out of state.
