Spots Of Tar All Over Side Of House

Getting roof done today and I noticed when I went outside to look at what was going on I seen the side of my house which has white siding has spots and some streaks of tar on it. Not sure where its coming from because there is no flat roofing being done. What should I do about it? Is it normal? Should I make them clean it after or will it go away on its own? Thanks

Must have left a culking gun hanging over the edge. Caulking guns do not belong on the roof. Make 'em clean it up with some bug and tar remover.

It sounds to me that you are having the roofing torn off and that they are letting peices slide off of the roof and mark up the siding.
Yes- have them clean it up.
Soft Scrub works well.
So does WD-40.

We get them here too. It usually occurs when your neighbors shingles ricochet off of the walls during a tropical storm. Mineral Spirits will take it off if the paint is up to date.

dewitts "REMOVE-IT" CITRUS SPRAY CLEANER Is by far the best thing i have found to remove tar off siding.

yes the marks are from the old singles sliding off the roof during the tear bad job on the roofers part but it happens when one of my cruse do it i make them clean it or if its just a few i'll clean it. They should have draped a tarp on the dump side or used USB. but i do know the secret to getting it of Mr. Clean makes the Magic Eraser, and trust me it is by far the best way to get the marks off. I use it with water only and it never fails.

If its vinyl siding you can clean with impunity. If its painted, wood or older Aluminum be careful and use lots of water too. The stuff that takes the marks off will take paint off too if not careful. Older Aluminum siding is the worst for that

Its vinyl siding and I talk to the head contractor today, he said the tarp ripped down because they had to extend it out from the house because of the garden next to my house, anyways he said he would get it cleaned so we will see. I would like to thank everyone who replied to help me out.
