Roofing Question

I've been in general contracting off and on for about ten years. Recently I've taken an interest in applying for a limited roofing license in Illinois. I am going to be the qualifing party to go take the roofing exam for my business. Do I need to send off the paperwork/money to take the test, and pass the exam before I apply for my roofing license? How does this all work? I would also like to know what materials would be helpful in order to study for the test. Thanks!

Re: Roofing Question

Here - no worries, anyone can do it as long as its under 10k, and if you want a RHB or CGC license, the board will tell you what you need & can bring

Where are you located at? (Location in your profile is helpful) & how about an intro here?

Re: Roofing Question

I was wondering if you knew anything about taking the roofing license test? I am wanting to know if the owner of the company has to take the test or can we designate our foreman to take it for the company?

Re: Roofing Question

I will be moving this to the Roofing Forum after I reply.

Contact the IDPFR and get a phone number to ask the exact questions.

I don't know about another person being the qualifying party for your company, because I own my own and was licensed before the new rules.

But, what if your foreman was the qualifying party and then he quit your company? What happens then?
