Roofing Felt

I have found specification for 15-lb and 30-lb felt. I am using the felt as a seperation the exterior wall framing system and the building structural roof deck. The felt and flashing will be nailed to vertical cement board underlayment behind 7/8" plaster. Both will bridge a gap and the felt will overlap the first part of a 2-part clonter flashing system.

I'm concern about the flexibility of 15-lb felt. Is roofing felt available in 10-lb?

Re: Roofing Felt

Show us your spec/diagram. While I do think I understand what you are describing I am not 100% sure. From what you described I don't think felt will do what you intend it to do.

I only use 30# on shingle roofing.

Are you a home owner or contractor?

Re: Roofing Felt

Yeah a pic would help. Never heard of 10#. Next grade lower is 30 min tar paper as far as I know. Doesn't sound like the right application to me, but if that is what is speced...
