Peel And Stick.
Gonna be putting a peel and stick down on a 1/12 under an existing valley. Never worked with the stuff before, read the directions and all. "Rainshield" & "Sheildguard" are the product names for the cap and underlay, the manufacturer is RGM.
Any generic tips, hints, "don't do this or you'll regret it"s? Thanks, Rich.

Re: Peel And Stick.
Not familar with those products in particular. These are self adhearing SBS? If so, I have used them on several occasions with good success, including a porch on my own house. A nice warm day is importent. They like to be rolled too. I use one of those lawn rollers you fill with water up on the roof. Half full anyway. 100 plus pounds is good.

Re: Peel And Stick.
Tks, RRD, the garden roller is a good hit I wouldn't have come up with. Any more, anyone?

Re: Peel And Stick.
a 100lb vinyl flooring roller would maybe be easier to handle up on the roof than the larger diameter garden rollers. the garden rollers' ive seen are fairly big, maybe they do sell smaller ones. the one i have is 16-20" in diameter filled with water. 2' wide maybe.

Walk the seams, especially side laps. Go to certainteed.com and they have a nice installation video for their product flintastic SA.
I've done quite a bit of the self adhering product on porches and small small type roof jobs. I'm still hesitant to do anything over 10 square. It's the side laps and flashings that worry me. |

Re: Peel And Stick.
Thanks all, Grump, couldn't find the video, but got the pdf installation brochure which seems to cover it.
