Ondura Roofing ?
Has anyone out there had a customer insist on installing Ondura Corrugated Roofing ? I've never installed it and am wondering if I should steer the customer to a metal installation instead ... any suggestions greatly appreciated ! - watchengineer@juno.com -

Re: Ondura Roofing ?
i installed it on a barn before that had a living space below , i had to remove same material ,it was on for a good 10 yrs but leaked like crazy, make sure some sort of plwood and felt or some protection underneath , take your time , overlap . i would have to say metal last alot longer , depending on climate of course .

Just have the customer look at one 5-10 years old and they won't want one!

Re: Ondura Roofing ?
I had one fellow in 10-12 years insist on it.
To this day, I've never been back to see if anybody did it for him.

Re: Ondura Roofing ?
I used it on a shelter for horses and a shelter for a tractor. It seemed to be O.K. for those purposes. Personally, I wouldn't use it over any living space.

Re: Ondura Roofing ?
I used on my wood shop about 5 years ago. It's not so bad installing it solo, ans since I just had rafters and firring strips it was cheaper than plywood and shingles/tar paper. I've never noticed any leaks to the floor, but the firring strips definately are rotting. Overlapping is the key, as well as being good with a hammer and not nailing too far/through the sheet.
The worst part is the capping is extremely hard to line up to look good. I don't think I would use it again.
