Minor Detail
Got a re-roof coming up, the customer is 'beyond the grid' and has solar panels mounted on the roof. Presently these panels and their braces are simply lag-bolted through the shingles into the decking with tar covering them. Any more professional ideas out there for this detail?

Re: Minor Detail
These are existing panels. Contact the manufacturer for proper mounting instructions.
The last one I did fastened directly to the shingles required I flash the mounting brackets much like a plumbing pipe witha rubber boot. No call backs so far after 2 years. |

Re: Minor Detail
Last few i have done were 7-10 years ago & from what i remember the homeowner sais thay were long gone out of business. I've come across a few nightmares before both reroof & tearoff where it's not feasable to lift/disconnect these huge panels. In this case i treat them like huge skylights, stepflash then counterflash with front & back pans like a chimney. Unless the glass is leaking itself, it will last.
