Lightweight Faux Cedar Shingles

In coastal So Cal all the cedar shingle roofs get covered in mildew pretty quick, it looks terrible, so I'd like to look in to faux shingles that don't attract mildew, that I can install over skip sheathing like regular cedar shingles, looks good from below, and is not too heavy?

and then how about individual flat faux colored (I'd like a light blue) smooth roof tiles, again individual tiles installed over the skip?

I've looked at a few online but never seen any in person,

have you tried copper strips on the roof? I don't know if there are ones that would fit the look of your structures, but would be a way to continue using cedar

The copper might help with mildew but not over the entire roof area but thanks anyway, still looking for those faux shingles.

So who has actually worked with one of the synthetic shingles? I could sure use some recommendations.

DaVinci are pretty good looking. I have installed the Slate, but not the shake. there is also one called "Fancy Shake"

I did not look up the installation over skip sheathing, so that's on you.

I don't know if distribution reaches your neck of the woods.

https://www.davinciroofscapes.com/pr...width-davinci/

+/- 300# / sq

What they call a "valley shingle" is a solid version. The field shingles have a hollowed out molded rib pattern underneath which makes them weigh less. The solid shingles are for where an end cut would show.

I assume the valley shingles weigh more than the field shingles, but the use is limited to exposed cuts.
