Just Bought A Hitachi Roofer...looks Wierd

i bought this gun and it has a silver piece attached between the body and the head and the screws go down through this extention and can figure out what the heck it is.it looks like i should take of the extra piece and attach the head to the body like all other guns..i dont know if it is something they do to put these out on display at homedepot or lowes but i never saw anything like it

the body is all the same...drive pin and all...but then the spacer..and the cap and the cap has an extention to get the plunger down to the pin...all seems needless but i want to know!!!where did it come from....i have not seen one like it at all anyone else find one i would be amazed..and i see nothing on the koki hitachi site showing one either but yoiu can tell it is all factory as the seal gasgets on top and bottom of spacer are hitachi and the bolts that hold it all together are long and from the factory.im stuck right now .
and dont think its for longer nails as it says 1 3/4 right on the gun

Some old Hilti framing guns were made this way they had a very large head that Hilti called a power head. actually made the gun more powerful
I don't know how this gun is designed but that may be the reason.
