An Interesting Roof We Did A Long Time Ago.

In the process of going through my archived 35 mm photo albums and digitizing them so they can be on my computer, I am finding some really cool photos I would like to share.

This one is from 1991 in Elgin and still looks as good today as when we installed it.

I will see if there are other in progress or final completion photos.

It would have been a very interesting challenge to try to do it as the original craftsmen had done with cedar shingles conforming to all of the curves of the roof.

Steamed or watter-logged prior to installing them I suppose.

Here is one from Utah. The Cedar shingles were steamed overnight in a 55 drum steamer, then installed the next day. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...11943282PyhNWH

Very very nice.

That is similar to what the roof we did looked like before we had to tear it off. Except for all of the rotted holes through the old moss covered cedar.
