Ins. Co. Payment For Estimates?

How much do insurance companies normally pay a contractor for an inspection and estimate?

They will pay only if temporary emergency repairs are required to mitigate continuing the damages any further.

You might find the necessity of having to tarp a roof if a tree limb landed on the roof and punched a hole through it or a raccoon ate a hole in the roof.

We charge 150 for insurance estimates it is a line item in the estimate.

If we deal with the insurance company it is recouped only if we get the job, if we deal with the homeowners it is billed directly to them.

Last week had an adjuster tell me they needed to hire a roofing contractor to measure and access the damage on a 50sq 10/12. I ended up being that contractor.

We get $160.00 from Travelers and $185.00 from Farmers for latter assist.

We are preferred for Travelers and on Farmers First Choice Program. 80% of the time we land the contracts if they buy the roof.

Ed

are you saying that neither the insurance company or the homeowner pays you for your estimates??

If so I wonder if that is a regional thing??

I see someone else posted that they get paid for their estimates as well. It is usually a line item amount on the adjusters estimate usually its $150. The last time I did one.
