Ice & Water In Florida

Can anyone advise if Grace's ice and water is part of Florida's code requirement? I noticed it mentioned in an earlier thread and want to confirm.

No, there aren't any ice damning problems here in Florida. They use ice and water at the valleys and critical areas.

GIWS is used a lot in Fla. Passes Dade County wind uplift test....felt does not. Used under lower sloped metal roofing. Used as a temporary roof after storms, when waiting for shingles.

It's all we use under tile roofs. Plus I think you can get a small hurricane insurance break for it now to.
