Ive used every brand of I&W you can think of besides Grace up until now. Wow this stuff blowes everything Ive ever used out of the water. One question though I cant get it to do a split release on the back paper. I claims it has a rip cord release but it's no where to be found. My salesman couldnt find it either. So whats up with the back of this stuff, anyone know any tricks to make it do a splilt release?

I have used grace quite a few times and never seen a split in the backing.

Grace is the toughest I ever used, but it's also the most damaging, I never use it except in dead valley situations.

Some grace have the rip cord, some do not. I have seen both. The rip cord does make it a little bit easy to flop and layout.

The rip cord should be imbedded between the release paper and the back of the ice shield. It's a very very thin wire. It's located at the exact center of the ice shield. You may have to peel up a little bit of paper to find it. Once you find it simply pull it and it tears the paper.

Thanks Grumpy. The box says it has the rip cord but Im tellin ya its not on the paper. This really sucks I got a few pallets and now have to fight all of them.

The rip cord is there. It is extremely thin. Once you figure out where it is, it will be easier to find it the next time. Like Grumpy said, peel back the paper in the exact center and use a fingernail to separate the thin wire from the iceguard.

Thanks Warren. Is this so called rip cord visible with the naked eye because Ive pulled the paper back and cant see it? Im going to feel like an idiot tm when I find it and have to come back and let you guys know.

I feel the same way about the grace, superior to everyone else.

The ripcord is actually more embedded in the material than on the paper. There is a dotted line on the front of the material that indicates the center. Make a small slit in the end on the line and bend the material, you should see a small peice of monofiliment. Once you get it started, its easy to pull out and tear the paper.

I found the rip cord. i also found out it was sent to my supplier by mistake. Right now Im paying $72 for a 2 square roll, the next time they have to order Grace it will be around $110 per roll. Tomorrow Im going to buy whats left of the Grace and it will be my last time because Im not paying $110 for I&W. So is $72 for a 2 square roll of Grace a fair price?

You said yourself it was better than any that you have used. Quality comes at a price. Thats about what we pay here. I only use that for potential problem areas.

You're right Warren I did say that but I don't see it worth the money. Ill still use is it certain area just not a the eaves and in some valleys. Ill have close to a full pallet so it will last awhile.

I'd kill for $72, We're paying about $100 here. Infact if it were $72 consistently I'd be using grace and grace only. You can get the cheap thin generic stuff for $50 a 2 square roll here.

I bought up the remaining 30 2sq rolls of Grace for $72. Next time if will be $110. I can get the cheaper 2sq for $72 also.
