Hitachi And Cougar Paws

2 quick questions, anyone ever use a hitachi NV45AC, not the 45AB, the 45AC is the lighter model , it seems hitachi doesn't make them anymore, i read good things about the gun, i have an oppurtunity to get a brand new one for $200, and am looking more some reveiws. also anyone use cougar paws roofing boots? do they really work as well as the say and how do the pads hold up, how many roofs etc... also can u only wear them on the roof, if u climb down the ladder and are walkng on pavement or grass does this effect them?? thanks alot

I've never used the cougar paws, but am curious about them.

As for the guns, Hitachi still makes the 45AB, it is the only one to use IMO. The 45AC, I have tried it, but it lasted about a month. It is a lighter model for DIY'ers and light work. If you do alot of roofs, spend the $300 and get the good one.

Every roofer I know and nail suppliers say to stay away from the light duty Hitachi coil roofing nailer. My Uncle bought one a couple years ago and swore by it until a couple months when it broke.

Re: Hitachi And Cougar Paws

I had the couger paws when they first came out about 5 yrs ago. ( maybe longer )
They worked very good. They only draw back is if one needs to not be on the roof, like climbing ladder, getting materials, etc. then you are useing your specialy boots with detachable soles, on the ground.
Only bought the one pair of boots with several soles. After they were done I did not replace them.
