HAAG Certification...Anyone Take The Course Or Any Other Roofing Certification Course
HAAG Certification...Anyone Take The Course Or Any Other Roofing Certification Courses?
P.S. By going to their site, I noticed that they are running a 50 % Discount on currently unfilled classes. I saw an ad in the RooferSexchange about the HAAG course with a $ 75.00 discount. Would this "Certified Roof Inspector" designation be worthy of any merit in a customers opinion or would it just be more added fluff? Here are some links to become better versed on the topic: This course runs between $ 295.00 to $ 395.00 and seems to be an online certification. https://www.moisturefree.com/admin/b...p?prodID=16603 Here is the course schedule for the HAAG Certification Schooling, for the remainder of 2008. http://www.certifiedroofinspector.com/hcri_overview.asp Here is the link to the RCI, (Roof Consultant Institute), Registered Roof Consultant Program. http://www.rci-online.org/registered...ltant.html#app Let the discussions begin. Re: HAAG Certification...Anyone Take The Course Or Any Other Roofing Certification Course
Ed:
I have inspected hundreds of hail damaged commercial low slope roofs with Haag after they were brought in as 'experts' by insurance companies. It seems now if the claim exceeds $50,000 they get an engineer through policy regardless of the extent of damage. They certainly do have a system and they are throrough. There are about 3 engineers that I see quite a bit and we have a pretty amicable relationship. They know my philosophies and opinions on roof damage and I know theirs. We generally come to a fair resolution, but have butted heads a times. They are a very well respected firm in the roofing industry and I feel the certification would be a very helpful promoting factor for a solid roofer as well as educational. I plan to do this. It can give you another level of credibility with HO's and ins companies and every little bit helps.
