Re: Got A New Way To StepQuote:
In Framing class, we were given the task of framing out a wall without any layout (we had to do the layout ourselves meaning that we had to decide the placement of the studs). I came up with a manner to frame a wall with a division where the requirements for material were met AND I was able to use 100% insulation behind the stud to the wall. It was completely unorthodox and the teacher (who had 40 years of experience) said he'd never seen it done that way, but he ran things through his head and not only did I meet all my strength requirements, but I surpassed my insulation requirements. I've tried to invent newer ways to do things and 99% of the time it would blow up in my face. The day I humbled myself and accepted that there's a reason that things are done a certain way for decades, I was much happier. For example, stepping back shingles I discovered on my own as a kid. It just made sense to me as I looked at a small dormer I was doing (I was about 15 at the time). I looked at the work area and "how" to do it just popped up in my mind and I did it and it worked.

Re: Got A New Way To StepQuote:
They cost about $25. so it comes out to less than a dollar a day. The cheap cotton/rubber ones wear out by the end of the day. At almost a dollar a day, the "good" Ironclad Gloves are actually more cost efficient. The Super Duty pair should last even longer. Plus, their washable and are far more comfortable than the cotton ones. I love them. You can get the Ironclad Heavy Duty gloves which are great too and will give you more than a month too (about $14.-$19.)...

Re: Got A New Way To Step
I believe that Certainteed also states that the "racking" method can also leave unsightly patterns on the roof. I will rack away if its a 3 tab job. But I hardly do any of those any more. I almost always run of the valleys, and if I do I snap lines, because doing so they can get off track quite quickly.
