"Flexeel" Air Hoses

I was wondering if anyone had a review good or bad about these air hoses? I had a guy show up the other day with one. After 5 minutes of everyone busting his balls for the tainty lil blue air hose he used we went to work. A few times during the day I used his gun and wow, I could not believe how much of a difference the lighter hose made! The gun seemed 5 pounds lighter and was sooo much easier to move around. (Yes, I know the gun was not actually 5 pounds lighter)

So now that I am in need of some new hoses I am seriously considering them and would like to hear some opinions. Thanks guys. And for those of you that don't know what I am talking about, just google flexeel.

Re: "Flexeel" Air Hoses

Hello,

Most all of the shinglers that I work with have switched to Flexeel hoses. We use the 9/16 for a lead hose and the 3/8 for a whip. They do not freeze when it is 10 below and you are right they don't make your gun feel so heavy.

Here is what I found:
100' hose $45 bucks? Not bad at all. (Amazon)
Can easily be repaired if you get a whole in it!
More abrasive resistant than rubber.
Like previous poster said, better in cold.

Re: "Flexeel" Air Hoses

By far the best hose made...splicing repairs r a piece o' cake, and dependable.
I have six reels from "china" harbor frieght set up with 100' 1/4" flexeel. I'm in temps below zero and the hoses r unreal...light and smooth drag. The reels make life easy.
Theres prob about a 2000 ft or more of goodyear rubber in my shop that will never be used again.
Buy direct from coilhouse (online)...price is great.

Re: "Flexeel" Air Hoses

I like em, I took the old hose and threw it right in the garbage can at the end of the day testing the new one. Now if only it made my compressor feel lighter!

Anybody found a way to get them not to coil up so tightly? Mine tend to get knotted up because they coil up so tight all the time.

Also, what is the easy repair methods you guys use on them?

Hello,

The best way to get rid of the tight coil issue is for you and one other person to each take an end of the hose and pull(stretch)it. You will hear it pop quite a bit. Myself and a few others have done this on our hoses and I haven't had a problem in 4 or 5 years, still using the same hose.

Been using them for a couple years now. The smaller diam. red hose works great.

Last time I picked up a pallet of nails the salesman gave me two thicker blue 50 footers.
