Re: Flat Roof Question

I know times are hard and we are all doing what we can to make a buck, but why don't you call a roofer that does this all the time, get a price then let him do it, make a buck, go on about your merry way. Don't jepordize yourself with something like this if you not familiar with it

Re: Flat Roof Question

Check with the local building code department and see if One Million and One layers are allowed and get back to him with their regulations.

Problem with that, Ed, is that all that tar is considered maintenance...not a roof layer.

Some jobs you just have to stand your ground on. This sounds like one to either do right or don't do at all. Sometimes that's tough but it's all part of the game.

Re: Flat Roof Question

Is there a gravel surface ? you can do spot repairs with a good mastic and membrane. use Karnak flashing cement or Bulldog. if there is gravel you will need a scratch bar and a little bit of skill in using it. you will also need a trowel, I like to use a good margin trowl. that way i can clean every bit out of that bucket. dont forget to sweep clean all dust from work area as well and apply mastic at about a 1/4" thick consistancy then you can rub in your membrane"ashpalt impregnated mesh" into the mastic and rub it in nice, then apply another layer over it. Keep it neat and you wont get covered in the stuff.
