Is it possible to use flashband as a permanent solution instead of torching with bitumen IE. New pitched roof extension built against bitumen/gravel torched flat roof extension, at the join between new pitched roof and old flat roof an Flashband be use or will if have to be torched??

I have always seen flash band as a quick, temparary stop gap before you use the right material!
