Enviro-Shake
Just had a customer change his mind and is very interested in Enviro-shake. Anyone had any experience with this particular product? Whatcha think and where was it price-wise for the field. Personally, I am not fond of many of these man-made wannabes. In my opinion real wood and real stone is the only way to go.
Anyways, any info on anything of this product by tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. Owners are flying back out tomorrow and want some info. Of course I can't get ahold of anyone at the mfgr and I'm not even sure this product is suitable for the northwest. |

Re: Enviro-Shake
Have you tried Enviroshake.com?Or google search enviroshake Canada? We have a job coming up for some mansard walls using Enviroshakes, this will be my first time but we"ll have a guy on the job foreseeing all aspects.I know they have a 50yr warranty and put on like shakes and as far as I know are good for all climates. We had to special order and took a couple of months to receive.I could find out our supplier if you wish but you are probably better off ordering in The states.

Re: Enviro-Shake
Yes John, I perused the website but that's not the place to get REAL information on a product. I'm not saying it's a bad product, I just take all synthetics with a grain of salt anymore because so many have been miserable failures for one reason or another. I like seeing the real-world track record of products before I'm convinced.
I actually wouldn't mind trying it out. Only person we could get ahold of was a gentleman up there, he was very helpful although he seemed like he didn't WANT to help...I like that kind of attitude. So you are in the same boat as I am huh. What part of BC are you working in? |

Other side, just south of Cranbrook area. Used to play soccer all over BC in my younger days. Don't know if there is a more beautiful place on earth than your province.

Re: Enviro-Shake
lol, thanks for the offer but the job isn't worth THAT much to me. If I want to see it I just have to go to my neighbors in the north it appears.

Re: Enviro-Shake
Hi,I am in Toronto, and have used the product on 4 or 5 projects.
It has stood up well, the first job was in 2000. Detail work can be tricky as not much flex in the tiles, none in the caps. It goes on just like tapersawn shakes, you can use your valley cut offs to fill in hips, not much waste, can use nail gun-11/2" nails They are very slippery wet, need jacks and planks all the way. I have pics at photobucket.com- name-wattroofing, password -guest. The house in the pics is a very complicated roof,7 flat roof areas, with a bellcast eave,4 dormers. |
