Lol its for the home show so its only 20' wide and the gable is only 10' tall

Its gonna be a combination of Scottish thistle and quiet willow, with cameo trim.

Re: Drip Edge ?

I'm going to guess that the aluminum drip edge became popular around the same time as fiberglass shingles. The old shingles were thicker and heavier ,and were able to support themselves on a 1" overhang. The fiberglass shingles bend over the side and needs the added support of the drip edge to get a good 1" overhang.

Wow Ive never seen ice and water shield up the rakes . Do you run a full width roll up the rake or just a 12" with? We've only used it on the valleys and down at the gutter. The funny thing is i could count on one hand the leaks Ive had in the passed 30 years Ice shield popped up here around 94ish . John

I'm with you on this one I like to stick my ice shield to the fascia and screw the gutter over it . Ice cant get in under the rubber I like a 2" over hand on the bottom and 1" on the sides .

Neither; I leave it to the roofers. The AHJ around here wants full width.

It's way overkill on most decently pitched roofs, at least in this area. I've seen 20 year old roofs that didn't even have felt under the shingles, and nary a leak. But they say frog and we have to jump.
