Do Roof Shingles Go Bad?
Does anyone know if roof shigles go bad sitting outside? Their are about about 40 squares of timberline 40yr shingles someone wants put up. They've been sitting outside uncovered on pallets about a year though so they've been snowed on, the suns hit them (although they're in the shade and we had a cool summer with a high of about 90).

Re: Do Roof Shingles Go Bad?
I had a bundle go bad once. We formed a posse and hunted them across the hill country for a week. I lost two good deputies before we finally brought them in.
It ain't purty when good shingles go bad.

They should be good, maybe get rid a few of the ones of the top but they will be fine. Laying on a roof they get snowed on and they are in direct sunlight for 12 hrs a day and they last many years.
