Covered Patio 10 X 10 - Should I Wood Block?

Hello!

I need some advice from someone that knowns about roofing a back yard covered patio. I built 2 soon to be covered 10x10ft & 7x12ft covered patio. The patios are up, but the blocking is next? Should I block?

I am using douglas fur wood and treated wood for these 2 projects from Home Depot. But due to the short spans I am not sure if I should wood block and if I did what is the advantage. I reside in Los Angeles, California.

1. Patio in feet 10 x 10 - (2x4) - 4 inch roof slop - I will use Ondura Roof Sheets.

2. Patio in feet 7 x 12 - (2x6) - 4 inch roof slop - I will use Ondura Roof Sheets.

Thank you very much!
