We have a newer (3 1/2 years) roof, with New Horizon shingles. We have had problems with them lifting up, and recently blowing off. Our contractor has always made repairs quickly, however we recently decided to contact Certainteed, and they had us send some shingles to be tested, and they said that the shingles were ok, but perhaps the problem was installation, or weather related. It seems that Certainteed has a lot of problems, and do not stand behind their product. We decided to have another roofer look at the job. He came over and did a "pencil" test on the shingles and said that they were nailed higher than they should be, and left a Certainteed diagram that showed a correct installation. We are tired of the problems and want a new roof. Should our original roofer have to re-do our roof because it was installed incorrectly?
