Cedar Shakes

does anyone know if its possible to preserve the look of cedar shakes of a roof or will they just wheather no matter what

Time waits for no man (or shingle). You can use a UV inhibitor style preservative but that will only take you so far. The will eventually silver.

We clean and seal shake roofs as well as maintain them. They need to be maintained about half as often as wood decks.
