Wow! That sounds like a great deal. It'll probably go quick at that price! Excellent deal.

Re: BUR Equipment For Sale

I think a lot of that BUR and torch down stuff would be great for a Roofing Museum . "wouldnt it be cool to have one?"
Its a real shame in a way because a lot of the roofing skills will be lost. single ply is just to dam easy and cheap.

I have a hot kettle I bought a long time ago...never used...but I think I'll keep it cause you just never know.....Are you changing directions Aaron? I would guess the other specialty roofing has taken over from the tried and tired BUR?

Re: BUR Equipment For Sale

Change of venue.

Single ply may be esy, but BUR is the long term roofing solution (If properly applied, of course)

Re: BUR Equipment For Sale

Single Ply is just as good or better than a BUR, with the exception of maybee a coal tar pitch roof. all the roofs in Boston are going back single ply "almost no BUR or modified bitumen at all" its to bad a lot of young journymen roofers "local 33" dont know how to mop or set paper. I dont think its coming back either,
I was lucky back in the eighties to work with a union shop that did it all and learned a lot.

Re: BUR Equipment For Sale

I disagree, Jim. I tear off 40 year old asphalt 3 plys all the time. 60 year old CTP. I have not known a single ply to last that long. I am probably mistaken, but have not personally seen any.
