Buckling Shingles

Any ideas on what caused this? It's all the way up one side and down the other. Also what are the dangers of leaving it un repaired? Ps, this is not my work.

Have there been any reports of missing pet hamsters in the area?

Re: Buckling Shingles

That looks like more of a problem with the framing than the shingles. Trusses or hand cut roof?

Is it a townhouse complex? Lots around here like that, the crease is usually over a big masonry firewall.

Re: Buckling Shingles

Here's a picture of the back side and the front. The tunneling on the front side is dead center in the picture. I do believe there was an addition built on to the church but I'm not sure if that's where it was. Of course that does seem like a logical place looking at the picture, but the original roof didn't do that. The roof with the hamster trails is only about 4 months old. I think it's GAF timberline.
