anyone heard of Heather brown colored shingles?

Just wondering if any of the old timers around here have ever heard of Heather brown shingles from any manuf.? I have a whole neighborhood that has this stuff and I cannot find the color.

I thought it was an OC color but can't find it.

also anyone ever heard of Malarkey shingles? I sure could have picked a better name.

CertainTeed has a Heather Blend but shingle colors, have different names in different regions. I think CertainTeed has 4 different regions and each has it's own colors

IKO used to have some heathered colours...not anymore tho, at least round here.

I also doubt you could have picked a better shingle than Malarkey .

Heather was a GAF color, before GAF and Elk merged. Now the color is called Barkwood in the GAY/ELK timerlines.

Try to lift up on a shingle on the rake and see if you can see what is written on the plastic strip. If it's Certainteed you'll know right away as they always have 1 2 3 4 and the logo Roofing Collection. Certainteed has been putting the plastic strips which identifies the type of shingle, color, and date of production since the early 90's.

Are the roofs laminate, three tab or four tab?
