Aluminum Coil Question

My grandparents had a "sun porch" installed about 5 years ago, on the 4x4 wolimized post they wrapped them with aluminum coil stock (fascia material). At the bottom of the one post the aluminum is almost rotting away. Looks like rust, but its completely white. I can pick it off and crumble it. Its only up off the sill where the 4x4 rests 4" up. The rest is fine. Is this a chemical reaction to the wolimized wood or cement ledge? Any help is appricated.

It is probably electrolosis, I'm not an authority on the subject but I've been told that is the case, more likely due to contact with a galvanized connector. I have also read on the aluminum coil box that it should not be used over treated lumber.

Aluminum should not be used in direct contact with this wood, unless an adequate physical barrier separates the aluminum from the wood or the manufacturer ensures the performance of the aluminum product.
