80 Square Quonset

I am considering quoting on this job that has come up for tender. I am not a roofer by trade but it is a good opportunity to get some work in my hometown where there is a shortage of contractors. It is 2 1/2 hours away from me now so I haven't seen it in person in a few years. Sorry, I don't have info on the height or pitch of the top half at this time. I realize this will make a diffence when quoting.

My question is, has anyone roofed this type and size of structure before? If so, how many man hours did you put into it? How did you go about it and what would you do differently.

I'm thinking a zoom boom with a caged scaffold would be necessary.

Not sure why you couldn't just use ladder jacks and a plank for the sides and walk the top?

I was thinking of doing that too. I forgot to mention that there is no rooftop delivery available in this town of 700, so the zoom boom would be used to get the shingles up there. There's no way I'm having anyone carry 240 bundles up there!

I just thought given the size of the job, whatever I can do to increase efficiency would be well worth it.

Yes 3 to a Square.

The roof is, in my eye, more than 80 Square.

Conservative estimate as I see it.

Maybe I'll spell my company name into it, that should get me some good advertising along the highway!

I'll have to put that in REALLY small print in the contract.

Why would you drive 2 1/2 hrs to work

If the money's right...why not? I can stay at my parents place while I'm there, so my commute would be cut down to about 45 seconds each way.
