This room addition I framed a few years ago has 10 simpson strongwalls.
Just in the addition...

dunno. everything i've seen built down there is stucco on lath over studs with 1/2 cdx boards on the corners.

That's how they where built in the 50's and 60's.
Anymore things are way over engineered.
You should see some of the ridge beams that I see called out.

To much sometimes is To MUCH.
I've seen alot of over kill by engineers. Park A on it.

i just did a 3,5ksf new house. 7 rolls of cs20, about 50 phd5's, a ton of threaded rod, and massive hourage for the lowest man on the scrotum pole. what gives?
