Whats It Really Like Framing In Alberta


Anybody worked out west Alberta, i`m from toronto and we have recruiters come around trying to get us to go up to alberta just wanted to find out what it is really like up there work wise.

The story's are true if you like to work than this is the place to be. Around Edmonton framers average 25-30 bucks an hour which I think is pretty good pay for us wood basher's.

yup, lots of work but no where to live. Ft.McMurray is booming too but its 1000$ a month for a couch if ou can find one. Come on out if you like adventure!

It is as you heard, busy. Plan on bringing your own crew though as you will not find any helpers here that are experienced. I have been past homes that are being framed by one person. They are building the roof on the ground then craning them in place. This is nuts but true in a lot of cases. WCB and 2 million insurance are required. The cost of living is going up as well so be prepared.
