Re: Tool Pouches
To be honest, I thought you wrote "Tea Bagger" the first time (a very insulting term around my parts!).

Re: Tool Pouches
right now its the oiled tan leather mcquire nichols from hd. got a 3 point suspension on it. I like the three point better than the four point myself, opinions on that?
I don't carry around all that much I tend to pack it for what I'm gonna be doing for that half of the day. if I'm gonna be cutting for a good while I set the bag to rest and pack the sawhorse saddle on an extra horse next to the cut table. saves me the extra 30 pounds my belt can weigh. besides the fact I weigh in at 230 my belt would put me over the safety rating on most aluminum extension ladders. don't want that lol. at least thats my excuse, lately I been doing little stuff and been real lazy and leave the dam belt in the truck. Re: Tool Pouches
I'd rate Occidentals #1, then Rooster Products 2nd (AWP, McGuire Nichols, etc...).
I've had Rooster Products belts and they last me for years (love their oil tanned belts) and to me, they seem just a step below Occidental. |

Re: Tool Pouches
For the most part i can wear my belt all day without taking them off. Thats why i put out the money for a set of occidentals.
I would prefer a three point but oxy doesnt make one.

Re: Tool Pouches
I'm using a 3 point right now, I was using a 4 point with my old occidental bags, I'll take a 3 point any day. My occidentals were the beltless bag setup, which I ended up rigging up with a belt. I tried using the belt and suspenders at the same time once, and found it difficult to bend and move around. I swore I'd never use a belt and suspenders at the same time again, so I would switch back and forth, between just belt and just suspenders, depending on what I was doing. I'm glad I gave the 3 point a chance, because it doesn't get in my way and make it difficult to bend and move.

Re: Tool Pouches
Occidental bags are the only way to go. Go to there website and see many different options that are already put together, or build your bag the way you want it. There is one thing that I make a must on any belt that I use, that is to make sure it is padded.

Re: Tool Pouches
I have a mixed rig Leather nail pouch, nylon for the square, chalkline, etc. Seperate nylon tape holster and leather hammer hoop. It looks like hell but I love it! The next one is gonna be a Dead-On rig, alittle pricey but I know a guy that had one and I fell in love with it. I can't get that one until "Old Faithful" gives up. By the way, Alex, don't blame the belt!!
