Screen porch framing question in Indiana
I have a customer that wants a screened porch added on the their pool house. I thought of using 4x4 treated under a vinyl sleeve wrap for the posts and a product called Screeneze for fastening the screen wire. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

That stuff looks like it would
be a pain to me.
I've used this with good results
http://www.screentight.com/screenedporch.shtml
I think I've even seen it at Lowes,
but I think we got it at Carter-Lee.
Where are you?

I live on Lake Shafer near Monticello. I just visited the web site you suggested and indeed Lowes (in Lafayette) handles the product. I will check it out tomorrow. Of course the customer wants everything done by Memorial day. Ah crap what else is new..thanks.

Screeneze is actually easier to use, the only problem is waiting for it to get shipped to you

Samples I saw seemed like you
would need three hands and
no wind?
The Screen Tight is just like
running any spline replacement.

Getting it started is maybe a fraction harder than Screentite system - instead of pushing a spline into the track & then using the roller you push the cap over the screen & then smack it in with a rubber mallet (if all else fails - use painters tape to help hold it for you to get started). Nice part is - once the cap is on, its done, unlike the screentite system where you still have to cut the cap & put it on

Isn't there exposed aluminum
on the inside though?

I checked out screentite today at Lowes. It is cheaper by the ft. 1.45 v.s.2.19 for Screeneze. There is one thing other than cost that I liked about the Screentite system it does have a 3-1/2" double track that can be used over 4x4 posts in mid wall locations. With Screeneze I would need to run 2 sets of track on said post.
I need to disguise the treated lumber no mater what. I guess the 4 part vinyl sleeves would be the answer. I wonder how the intersections i.e. at mid rail and post will look after thermal expansion and contraction.
Hey Neolithic,
That must have been quite a site back in "74" I arrived 4 years after the twister here in Monticello.

I am building all of this from scratch. Are there any extruded aluminum posts anyone would recommend to use instead of the 4x4s and 4x6s for the load bearing (2 16" lvl's spanning 20')posts ?
