Re: Rafters 16" Or 24" Centers
What is the dead load, snow load, and wind load on the roof? 24" o.c. has a 24" tributary width on interior rafters and 12" on end rafters. Calculate your load (lb/ft) and see if your rafters will hold up. If the spacing was specified on the plans, then all these calculations should have already been done. Any questions should really be directed at the Architect/Engineer who drew up the plans/specs. Hope this helps.
