Looks like you are having all the fun up there in western NY. It don't look much like December though. When did you take these pics?
You are getting to do a little timber framing huh? I love that kinda stuff too. Crafty exposed framing for generations to admire.  Looks like the planer knives were dinged up pretty good though. Whats the plan about finishing those timbers?

We got the second floor walls up today, and we're setting the ridge tomorrow. Once we get a good fit on our upper rafters, our mill will start banging them out. With a little luck we'll be setting rafters next week

This is a fun project...SMALL, but it's the kind that reminds us why we do what we do!! Much of this is being done on the fly...The HOer has a bunch of reclaimed materials and has an idea, but he comes every wednesday to make decisions.....so, last I heard, that "is" stain grade, but with a natural finish.... what a circus meeting days are...Architect, designer, PM, foreman, owner...I'll try to sneak a pic tomorrow

Make sure with that rim on the wall you cover the entire plumb cut on you rafters.
