OSB With Rigid Foam Board Factory Attached
Dow has recently introduced (in trial markets, to my knowledge) a 4x8 sheet of rigid foam board product that is "rackable". They claim this product is sufficient for exterior sheathing and requires no wind braces. Also, they claim with the right seam tape, it's weatherproof (no tyvek needed).
Not sure I want to be the ginny pig even if it were in my market. I thought there was a company making osb with a 1/2" rigid foam board attached. It's not a SIP, but a single osb sheet with 1/2 or maybe 1" foam attached. While expesive I'm sure, I' think this option would still allow for better siding options than the Dow product mentioned above....plus I would still tyvek it and seal it up tight. Anyone know of this product, if so, who makes it??? Thanks in advance for any input. |
