Not have any problems? No
Will it last for quite a while - Yes

Depends on the OSB used - plywood is generally a better material

X stands for exterior glue, but it is still a wood product which means it is susceptible to rot, insects, etc...

Kid, I wish you the best of luck, but can I suggest a quick name change if the mods are in a good mood and allow it - Pro is for pros, you are a budding apprentice at the moment who will hopefully become a professional.

Another tip - search is your friend, there is a ton of good info on this board. Pull a search on your question, review the answers & if you still have a specific question, something your just not getting - let it rip

Oh & spell check is a great item to

FramingPro - if you want to be a carpenter, go to the link I posted. It will give you all the info for an apprenticeship.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you need grade 11 as a minimum to get in. This is a real apprenticeship, not just work for some guy for a couple years.

You say you are about to enter an apprenticeship - how can this be?

Do it right, or don't bother. Go to Lee Valley, tomorrow, buy that book and then come back here.

Another good book for you is 'Basic Carpentry'

The hard part won't be finishing grade 11, but actually getting into the apprenticeship program.

There are gov't programs promoting this. Also, you can check out the union in Toronto.

Any journeyman carpenter can apprentice you, but they must have their
C of Q ( certificate of qualification ) to do this.

Hang in there! if this is your passion, then do what you need to do to make your dream come true.
