New Opening In SIPS Home
SIPS is pretty much all new to me in general so modifying an existing one is even newer.
I'm looking at putting a new door into a SIPS wall, is this even possible? I would assume there is a way to but curious if anyone has had experience with the right way... Its just a 3-0/6-8 Thanks |

Re: New Opening In SIPS Home
do you know the manufacturer? usually they have a detail
but ordinarily you just cut your R.O. then route the foam for 2x bucks i would use a couple of beads of spray foam before i set the 2x screw the 2x thru the sheathing on the outside and to the drywall on the inside add the wrb, sliding it under the existing one on top

Re: New Opening In SIPS Home
I found this.
HOW ARE WINDOWS AND DOORS INSTALLED IN FOAM CORE PANELS? Openings for windows and doors are cut and framed in the manufacturing process at the plant. They are located per the approved drawings. It is from these guys web site. Bet they know the answer. Good luck http://sipsteamusa.com/contact.html
