Metal Framing

Has anyone else used the Frame Rite system? I'm using it in a residential app. I'm curious if anyone else has and their oppinion of it.

Re: Metal Framing

Never heard of that system. I'm involved in a house with metal but it's with the typical C sections and track, 16ga.. Any website to check it out at?

www.marinoware.com It's a nice system but very labor intensive. I've never done this much screwing.

Re: Metal Framing

That looks pretty much like the typical components that Dietrich Industries sells. I hear you on the screwing, sucks up a lot of time too.

Re: Metal Framing

Used the system once, because it was spec'ed on a job by an engineer who swore up and down it would cut up to 70% time & labor.

Time saver my left foot!!!

My guys could have erected 3 standard 25g 10' walls in the time it took to secure one section! NOT my favorite, when it comes to metal framing innovations. They tried to spec it on our last high rise, as we were dong the panelized walls in our shop. I showed em' my personal statistics for labor saved, and it changed their mind. This is just my personal opinion, maybe you have had great luck with it!

However, in comparison, I love Marino/Ware's ViperStud, I think it's the best thing since sliced bread when it comes to studs in general. Any time I am involved in VE for a project, I try to get them to look at the VS.

If you REALLY wanna see innovation in metal framing, look at Clark/Western's RedHeader RO. This has saved LITERALLY hundreds of thousands since it was introduced to us. I try to get the component into any large project, as it benefits not only our Labor, but the GC's and ultimately the owners, bottom line. It is the NO-COAT of metal framing IMHO.
