Hilti Framing Gun?
just wanted to ask you framers out there, who has ever seen or used an old hilti framing gun? we needed another gun on a framing job we are doing and my boss had this old thing burried in our office shed (back in one of those corners you never ever empty out and go in). He had a lot of trouble finding nails for it, and had to order them through hilti who told him they were down to their last 5 boxes and werent getting anymore due to the fact they discontinued the gun. I just tried this thing out this thing out today and it KICKS A**. A bit heavy, but this thing drives a nail. I was nailing 3 1/4 nails (the only ones we could find) into double lvl's, and toe nailin all day. Just cool to see that the old ones are great. They dont make them like they use to. Anyone know where to get nails? Its a 17 degree full headed plastic coll. strip.

I never knew Hilti made nail guns either, but their equipment rules.

Re: Hilti Framing Gun?
I still have one from many years ago. It definitely has to be one of the heaviest guns out there. It can take quite a fall off the roof too with no damage.
The original hilti nails are the best gunnails I ever came across. I stopped using them, because they just cost too much. The other substitute nails might jam a little now and then, but the price difference made up for it. |

Re: Hilti Framing Gun?
sorry about the pic, it was raining here on monday and tuesday so I went to a different job, pics after the xmas break. thanks for the link though. it is a heavy gun, but it seems to drive a 3 1/4 nail a hella lot better than any of our paslodes do
