I might have to ask Mom to send a care package. I'll have to ask her for some Scrapple Too. I just get strange looks at the stores around here when I say these words.

Rob,

No one says grinders around here. The first and last time I heard that term was when I moved to Cape Cod and asked for a Ham & Provolone sub and everyone started laughing at me. Back then I was 19 years old and wanted to smack all of them.

Then they told me that they're called Grinders, but they don't pronounce it that way. They say, " Grindaaa's. They never pronounced their R’s up there.

Don't get the cats mixed up with the scrapple. I'll bet Tom R knows what scrapple is. I think he is South Jersey. Probly knows what "Cat" are too.

Y' know, Rob, - - it's funny, but you're right, - - although I'm 'smack-dab-center' of Jersey, - - they do kind of consider it 'south Jersey' here.

They seem to go more by the demographics than the actual physical location (more populated as you go North towards New York City, - - just over an hour away).

Anyways, - - yeah, - - scrapple is delicious, - - it's kind of a 'hog-scrap-mush-loaf' with seasonings.

And yeah, - - I'm sure (certain nationalities) toss the cats in there, too.

Uh-oh, - - gotta watch out for the PC police around here . . .

Oh, - - and we call all the 'shorts' cripples, - - both above and below the windows.

Re: Hey Jersey Guys.

Jmic, - - pork roll comes in a 'loaf' (or 'roll') about 4" in diameter, - - it's actually already cooked, - - you just cut off some slices 'n heat 'em up 'n put 'em on a roll, - - it tastes about halfway between bacon 'n ham, - - but better than either.

Yumm . . .

I couldn't get on the link, Rob, - - but I think that is the one I go through to send some down to my parents in Myrtle Beach every once in a while, - - in fact, - - thanks for remindin' me, - - my ole' man can't do without his pork roll fix . . .

Re: Hey Jersey Guys.

Oh, - - here's the one I go through, - - there's only two brands I've ever heard of, - - TAYLOR Pork Roll, - - and CASE pork roll, - - this one's CASE.

CASE originated right here in Trenton, - - I'm not sure about TAYLOR, - - but it originated either in Trenton or Philly. They taste real similar.

http://www.caseporkrollstore.com

Jmic, - - I strongly suggest you order one up

P.S. Check their shipping though, - - might not start 'til around October (not sure, off-hand). They don't wanna ship it in the summer so it don't spoil.

In the Cape, they used to make fun of the way I would talk.

I would say "Park the Car down by the Harbor Yard".

They said, "Paaaak the Caaaaa down by the Haaaaba Yaaaaad"

I would ask for a cup of coffee.

They would say, "Hee's Yaaa cup of a Caaaffee."
