Good Place Online To Buy Consumables, Saw Blades, Marking Chalk, Etc.

I, as i'm sure much of you, am trying to cut costs of business in all sorts of ways, i'm looking for a good alternative online to buy all of the consumable things that are involved with framing. i've tried ebay and am not really satisfied with the results so i was wondering if i could get some input from you guys. things i'm looking for specifically are:

Freud Diablo 24t wormdrive 7-1/4 blades
Morse Mcripper sawzall blades (or similar)
Irwin Jet black marking chalk (or similar)
Stanley Fatmax 25' tapes
Irwin straight line chalk lines (or similar)
1/4 inch hammerdrill bits

any help would be appreciated! thanks. -07spacker

Two thoughts here: 1) Are you placing your energy in the wrong place. There are areas of business where you need to spend and build in cost to the operations budget or overhead, however you define this expense. I think also we would need to know how much of the product you are using and what the expenses are per job. If we are talking less than $300 dollars per job then I would not be concerned. If the $300 is a significant number then I would look at my margins in other areas.
2) I just pulled my calculator out and did...$300 x 50, 300 being the consumables used per job and 50 being the number of homes let's say you frame a year. That works out to $15,000 of consumables. I'm wondering if you went to a store, not box like Home Depot, small mom and pop deal, and said I want to order 200 saw blades what can you do for me?

Keep in mind when ordering rather cheap items on line, you also have to figure in the cost of shipping. Getting a supply house to tack your order onto one of their orders keeps shipping down, and you could probably get your items for slightly more than wholesale.
The other option would be to try to figure out what wholesaler the stores buy from, and see how much you would need to buy to order direct from them- can you make a big enough order to make it worth it and then warehouse it your self? If so, maybe it's worth it to order all your nails, hangers, ect the same way. I used to have a boss that must have bought nails this way, because he had a pallet each of 8 and 16 gun nails in his garage.

Coastal Tool

That's where I buy my Matsu****a blades for my saws. The only blades that I'll use on a worm drive or circular.

I think if you find the right lumber yard they ought to be able to cut you deals on some of these items if you are buying lumber from them. I don't do enough volume to leverage deals, but I know a builder I used to sub to that gets a couple thousand dollar a year tool allowance(DeWalt only) from one of his suppliers.

You mean you don't get the call once a month from your long lost "buddy" ("hey, how ya doing--don't you recognize the voice???") with the deal on a trailer load of sawzall blades?
