An A-Frame

I have a customer that I have a done alot of work for in the past, Now his daughter wants a house built and he wants me exclusivly to build it. Problem lies in the she wants an A-frame home and I have never built one and dont know how to price it. Does anyone know of any good resources, links, or info that I could read just to brush up on what its going to take to build it?

Re: An A-Frame

Have a good set of plans made up that show all the needed components and how they attach and fasten, do a take off for the materials needed then figure out how much of your time it will take to build it and charge the rate you are going to charge.

Their are no particular sources for this kind of thing I can think of other than your own knowledge and experience. I re-iterate though get a good set of plans to build from, this is the most important thing at this stage.

Re: An A-Frame

I would think an A-frame would be similar to a simple, steep roof with floors. Price it as you would a second floor with steep roof.
