In this case the ridges were set, then the valleys, finally the jacks. All parts were calculated and cut on the deck. The only true commons were the rake rafters, beveled on a 45 at the bottoms for a clean finish.

I taught the class Tim Uhler attended . If you are interested in seeing more email me . These are very easy but require a good understanding of roof framing and geometry. I will be teaching the class again in June in western Ma. at the Heartwood school.
