Best Framing Nailer?

Hey all,

My POS Porter cable has destroyed it's buffer after only 2 years. I am going to fix it, but it needs to be relegated to back up status because I just don't like it. Does anyone have the new Hitachi N90? What other guns have YOU used that work well

Paslode - Not because it is the "best", but I can buy the nails everywhere around my area. So it is a convienence thing for me.

If you have a service center nearby as I do:

Tools of The Trade: "Our top choice is the Max"
http://www.toolsofthetrade.net/indus...ticleID=649074

I'm a remodeler. It's lightweight, well balanced, only 12 1/2" hgt not as much recoil as many other guns. However, not the best going through eng wood products.

that makes all the diff, where can you get service, parts, and ammo for your equipment, myself, the local yard sells paslode, between all the crews we have 12 f350s framers, we like them, if there is a problem, we bring them in and they fix them, it is so easy. I am sure if they sold senco or bostitch we would have those instead. Our guns get used everyday all day, they have really been proven.

Re: Best Framing Nailer?

Had Hitachis now for 6 years or more. Never had any problems. I like the coils...don't have to reload and the slide is ackward. Dropped a friends stick nailer Hitachi three time off a roof on concrete from 8 ft or so...never did a thing to it. Wasn't used to holding it...I felt pretty bad about it.
Course those guns are older and a lot can change in a few years with a product. I would never have bought a Bostich years ago because the seals were always going bad a leaking. I think they have fixed that now. Bought a bostich finish nailer a year ago and I like it a lot.

If I were using stick nailers, that is the gun I'd buy today.

Re: Best Framing Nailer?

Im a full believer in Paslode, i bought mine from a framer used he had it for 5 years, i own it for 3 a total of 8 years, with me it had fallen of the 2nd floor of decks a few time, and about 1 time in a house which cause it to leak a bit now, but want to count NUMBERS, try this, commercial fencing 4-5 nails per board, and i est about 54,000 shots i have done in 3 years and the bastard still goes. Mind you its a heavy gun

I use the hitachi nv 75 ag for everything I started out using it strictly for siding but found that it can take a lot of abuse i run my compressor @ 150 psi & have had no problems in 4 years
