BC Anyone????

I have a couple of friends who are full time framers and I have had some interest in helpin them out. I had a question in regards to clipped head and full round head nails. Are there certain areas where frh is a must or can clipped be used everywhere. I have heard stories of inspection rejection due to clipped head nail use. Is this true? any help would be great.

Yes, it's true. I'd advise not to use them, especially on shear walls.

Don't get the plastic collated they suck. Peices of plastic shoots every where and if there is a crack the nails can miss space in the gun and shoot badly. The paper is the way to go if you don't beleive me I'll sell you a nice Bostic 88 with very little use

Re: BC Anyone????

Hitachi NR83a or the NR90 are both nice guns. They're indestructable. Sorry, I hope that wasn't blunt earlier, I was just answering. But I've had many stories around me in WA state where that happened with the clipped heads. Framing walls together...maybe, but definitely not sheathing. FRH's for sure.

I've always had plastic, but have just given up with dealing with it. The plastic is everywhere and it used to get....well, everywhere. Yes in the shorts

But mostly in the socks below boot tongue level. Real pain sometimes. get one in the opticals every once in awhile. Gotta swear at something!

Re: BC Anyone????

I know along the Texas coast you must use full round head nails...no clip head. I imagine a lot of local inspectors in different locales would have their little whims as well?
