Basement Slab With Radiant Heat

Framing a steam room in the basement of my house, slab has radiant heat under. Its it ok to glue my PT 2x4 to the slab without any anchors?

Yes.

But the steam will effect the bonding eventually. Whats option B?

Re: Basement Slab With Radiant Heat

you could probably take an infared tempurature gun and figure out where the loops are running.

Re: Basement Slab With Radiant Heat

I'm not sure how much they cost, my best friend's dad works for a company that makes them, so I got mine for free.

It will take the tempurature of the surface of the concrete, but I'm betting the surface is hotter directly over the pipe.

Here is a link to the one I have for $75

Looks like there are cheaper models to be had for about $50

These things are cool, once you have one you think of all sorts of things to do with it.

PS- is that picture from the job in question? If so, can't you figure out the loop locations from the pic?

FLIR Camera anyone? The cost of having someone come in & mark it = a lot less than puncturing it
