$$$

Alright i've tried this once before in another site let me see if i get a better result here. I need info on how much to charge for metal framing (stripping a concrete cieling for drywall, and throwing up walls). I am making the jump to metal almost NOW and need to give a price today.

Do the first job for free, or until you get the hang of it. Then you should know what to charge the next time around.

Re: $$$

Materials times 3 plus drive time minus lunch but add conference time but then deduct cell phone time and then add gas and Burger King plus Starbucks coffee. If you don't have a Starbucks use Dunkin Donuts prices but add 11% and then add another 11% which should get you close to your square foot selling price.

You will get a better response from a Crack Pipe or a Fortune Teller than from anyone here. Sorry.

If you are in "The Business", then you have NO RIGHT to ask another how to run it! At least not here.

Dems iz jus da facs meng!

Re: $$$

alright, so i am a twenty something carpenter getting into a new realm. I will do my best to answer your specifications.

The framing will be 20 gauge, the height of the ceilings is 11 feet, the contractor wants me to assemble a grid to replace the existing drop ceiling out of the metal stud material using trapees to take out the slack. I will secure the small non load bearing walls to this grid as well as 5/8 sheetrock, total area for the ceiling is 1400 ft. I have two men in my crew besides myself they are skilled carpenters and drywall men, they dont have as much experince with metal framing but are competent, there is no christmas party or starbucks.

Now I just wanted a fair price per linear foot to give my customer of all the work I am doing on this job this is what i dont quite now how to price and was looking for a little help.

Re: $$$

bat, the problem with giving prices to you is as follows

1- everyone has different overheads
2- everyone has different expenses and lifestyles
3- everyone works at a different pace

how long will the job take you, how much are materials, how much do you need to make per hr, thats your price, good luck, G
